The Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapy / L'association canadienne pour la thérapie conjugale et familiale (CAMFT/ACTCF) was founded in 1995 to promote the profession and practice of couple/marriage and family therapy in Canada.

The CAMFT Registered Marriage & Family Therapist (RMFT) designation lets the public and other professionals know that our members have met the rigorous standards of the CAMFT and are exceedingly well qualified to practice couple/marriage and family therapy. Other mental health professionals who are interested in this field, and would like to become more knowledgeable and/or further their training, can join the CAMFT as a student, affiliate or associate member.

The CAMFT is led by a dedicated volunteer board of directors from across Canada. The current priorities of the CAMFT are credentialing, advocacy, outreach, networking professional development and federal initiatives that support Canadian MFTs and the communities we serve.
